The Sanibel TM electrode for ECochG was designed for Auditory Evoked Potential (AEP) and Electrocochleography (ECochG) procedures. Its easy insertion into the ear canal allows it to make contact with the tympanic membrane for acquiring ECochG measurements. The closer placement to the cochlea provides for a superior ECochG measurement than other well-known electrodes.
This extra-tympanic electrode is constructed of fine silver wire captured inside a soft silicone tubing with the electrode tip featuring conductive hydrogel. To help further reduce impedance a small amount of conductive gel can be applied to the tip before use.
